We embraced the dramatic setting of the Saugatuck river with cedar porches and decks and on all three sides of the family home that capture oblique and frontal views. Despite the constrained budget of a developer’s spec house, we incorporated various green features including passive cooling from a wraparound deck and awnings at the west and south.Working with constraints of the site to create fluid walkways to the river

Keeping parts of the house in tact, the edifice was re-imagined and a wrap around terrace was added along with a new master above a garageWe preserved the foundation and basement walls on the famed Bayberry Avenue, as well as other parts of the home in this gut renovation with local stone cladding and cathedral ceilings.
